Welcome to the friendliest yarn store in New York City - or so we're told. We're happy that you found your way to us! Come on in. Sit a while, read our newsletter, learn about our classes, meet our staff of happy enthusiasts and find out all about us!

In addition to our great attitude, we carry a wide range of yarns, from the most sublime to the easiest to care for materials on the market. We stock all major brands on needles and a great selection of accessories. We take pride in our comprehensive inventory of books and patterns, as well. In fact, everything is guaranteed to make your experience at Knitty City enjoyable.

We like to think of ourselves as a community resource, so we hold at least two events a month - some featuring the best-known authors and designers on today's market. We offer a wealth of classes and many free offerings for people who crave the community of fellow yarn lovers. Our staff of associates are all experienced knitters (many of them teachers) so you can be sure of expert help and support.

So, come visit us soon. We're centrally located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side (UWS) - on 79th Street - between Broadway and Amsterdam, 1/2 block east of the IRT 79th Street subway station. Our hours are every day (except Tuesday). Check the bottom of the page for specific times and hours.
